Things I'm involved with or use frequently:
- Golden Isles Scholastic Chess Association runs four scholastic chess tournaments per year on Jekyll Island, GA. I help out with these as an assistant tournament director, etc.
- Southeast Coastal Georgia Computer Club Meets the first Tuesday of each month. I go a couple times a year.
- St. Simons Chess Club I usually can't make it to this because of a conflict of meeting time with the bridge club.
- Online Encyclopedia of Integer Sequences A lot of integer sequences. I'm a contributor and associate editor.
- Great Internet Mersenne Prime Search This is a project to search for large Mersenne prime numbers. I've been a member since 1998 and I've tested over 250 numbers (all were found to be composite) and I've found a factor of more than 35 of them. I have six CPUs working on this. I'm in the top 500 producers. But.... I'm planning to transition over to the even more important:
- Seventeen or Bust project to try to prove the Sierpinski conjecture.
- Prime Curios Curios about prime numbers. A book has been published.
- Prime Pages Information about prime numbers, including a list of the largest known primes. At one time I had discovered nearly 100 primes on the list of the 5,000 largest known prime numbers, and once had one in the top forty (number thirty-five). Now I have only two in the top 5,000 and none in the top 1,000. Such is progress! I have one CPU working on this. My page there.
- Prime Puzzles These are mathematical puzzles involving prime numbers. I used to be active there.
- Mathworld A very useful mathematics encyclopedia.
- Astronomy Picture of the Day I usually look at this each day.
- My LinkedIn page
- House of Staunton A maker of high-quality chess sets. If you click on this link and buy something, I get a little money to help keep this webpage going.
And for the beach rental beach house, see Shastas Beach House.
