Chess sets
If you have played chess with my daughter or me in the last few years on our own set, it was from the
House of Staunton, a maker of high-quality sets. If you played with her set it was a ProLine. If you played with my set it was a Professional, Centurion, Collector II, Capablanca, Zagreb, ProLine, St. Petersburg, Marshall, or plastic Marshall. (Yes, I know what you are thinking...) The set pictured below is my wooden Marshall with a 4 inch king. The wooden pieces given as prizes at the Golden Isles Scholastic Chess Tournaments in 2009 were from the House of Staunton. If you visit their website through the link below and buy something I get a little money to help keep this website going. Even if you don't plan to buy anything, check them out by clicking
here. (Note that I do not recommend the Sheesham/Golden Rosewood sets.)
